Welcome to my simple webpage!
I would like to use this site to explain my homelab setup, which I have been working on for the past
few months.
I am using a simple Dell OptiPlex server with the following configuration:
CPU: i5-7500;
RAM: 2×8 GB at 2400 MHz;
Disks: 2×1 TB HDD running in RAID 1.
The rest is not so crucial, so I will not mention it here.
The most important thing is that it lets me run all of the services I need with quite good
performance.
I am running all of this behind the NetBird VPN, so I do not have to expose any ports.
All of the apps run in Docker on the openSUSE Leap Linux distribution.
Below you can find an image with explanation of all of the services running on my homelab:
Below i would like to give explanation to the services i described in the image above:
AdGuard Home: a DNS server which allows me to use secure DNS over HTTPS without configuring it on every device
and using domain adresses at home.
NPM: a reverse proxy for routing traffic to correct services. I have a domain registered so i also use HTTPS,
using DNS challenge and wildcard certificates so i do not have do generate them for every subdomain.
Dynacat: a simple dashboard using yaml for configuration. This is a fork of Glance, with some additional bells
and whistles.
Tinyauth: the first service i use for SSO in my homelab. I do not want to create accounts for every service.
Thanks to Tinyauth i can have a single login, and then redirect those credentials to the given service using forward-auth.
This has to be configured in NPM, and takes a bit longer than OIDC, so i rarely use it, only for services which do not have
OIDC.
PocketID: the second service i use for SSO. This is a OpenID provider, which uses passkeys instead of passwords.
It is a lot less complicated than Authelia or Authentik and works very well in combination with Tinyauth
Copyparty: a swiss army knife of file servers. The interface might not be appealing to everybody, but personally
i like it. It is also very small and configuration is quite easy to grasp. I use it mostly for hosting my music and covers
for albums
Navidrome: a Subsonic compatible music server. Nothing special - it just works.
FreshRSS: Same as above. I am still learning to get used to using RSS. I have found quite a lot of interesting
blogs using Hackernews and it would be nice to have them in one place.
Yamtrack: a universal tracker. You can use it to document the movies, games, books etc. you have consumed.
It feels nice to look back on how much you have done in the past year.
Zabbix: A comprehensive monitoring tool. I have set it up for learning purposes, because it is quite often
used in professional settings. After some config it completely replaces tools like Uptime Kuma.
Currently i have two pages - one for server iself, and one for docker containers.
Trillium Notes: a self hosted tool to create and keep your notes. I am quite forgetful so making notes is
useful for me.
Omni-Tools: a collection of useful tools for converting text, date, pdfs etc.
In the Image section of this website i have included some screenshots of the services i use.
